Tilt or touch? Picking controls for mobile racers
Every mobile racer asks you the same question up front: tilt or touch? And most people just pick the default and move on. That's usually a mistake.
Tilt feels immersive and intuitive, but it's a nightmare on a bumpy bus. Touch steering keeps you steady and precise, which is why I switched over in Neon Drift League and never looked back.
There's also a middle ground some games offer, where steering is automatic and you only manage acceleration and drifting. It sounds like cheating, but for arcade racers it keeps the focus on the fun bits.
Spend five minutes in the settings before you write off a racer. The right control scheme can turn a frustrating game into a favorite.
